Google is now combining data from Analytics and ads, with new measures to comply with privacy laws.

Previously, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Ads provided different numbers. With the new update, this is no more. The data is now aligned and the statistics match.

The new "Advertising Segments" dashboard helps you understand your audience better by showing segment sizes in a consistent way.

In the EU, Google requires additional steps to comply with privacy laws, such as obtaining "consent signals".

You can use the Google Ads API, manually enter permissions or use conversion-based customer lists.

In addition, the American Privacy Rights Act may restrict ads based on certain user actions on websites, which worries marketers.

Bad bots can steal content, launch DDoS attacks, and take over accounts. Since 2019, human traffic has decreased by 10% while bad bot traffic has increased by 6%.

To reduce bot traffic, don’t rely only on platform defenses. Use bot-blocking tools, exclude audiences in your ad manager, and filter IPs.
